Establishing a Hair Care Routine:

For any type of hair, there are 2-4 essential steps that you should never miss on if you mean to keep your hair healthy

INTRINSIC CARE:

Eat clean, we don't know who needs to hear this but stop bingeing on foods that stress your system. Try to include foods that aid overall health, for example: Swap your processed chips with Foxnuts, swap candy bars for frozen fruit/ berries. Try to include the following foods for a healthy mane:

  1. Eggs

  2. Green Peas

  3. Spinach

  4. Oatmeal

  5. Seeds (Sunflower, Flax & Chia)

  6. Tofu/ Cottage Cheese

  7. Kidney Beans

  8. Sweet Potatoes

  9. Papaya

  10. Walnuts

Here are a few other things you should keep in mind if you're looking to grow your hair and look after them naturally-
  1. Don't wash your hair more than thrice a week
  2. Don't expose your hair directly to the sun
  3. Avoid using too much heat on your hair
  4. Let your hair air dry
  5. Focus on scalp and ends both when applying topical treatments
  6. Braid your hair every night before sleeping
  7. Don't keep your hair in tight hair-dos
  8. Stress less and drink more water

EXTRINSIC CARE

Step 1: Choosing a sulphate, alcohol & paraben free hair mask to use weekly. We recommend the Detox Hair Mask :

DIY:

  1. You can swap water with curd water/ fenugreek water (water with fenugreek soaked overnight)/ yogurt.
  2. You can also add an essential oil like Lavender or Rosemary for better results.

Step 2: Choosing a sulphate, paraben & alcohol free shampoo that you can use twice a week

Step 3: Post shampooing, it's important to moisturize your scalp and ends both, need not buy an ultra expensive serum, here is how you can DIY :
Take 2-4 tablespoons of Aloe Vera Gel & transfer to a spray bottle, then add some mineral water (RO/ Aquaguard water works just fine), fill the bottle with water and add 5-6 drops of essential oil of your choice (optional) for a pleasant smell. The Aloe Vera protects your hair from sun damage and keeps your tresses moisturised, naturally.

We are sure that your hair and the environment will thank you later for being gentle on them. Let us all get together in a cleaner and safer beauty environment.
